Fashion Week 2012. Day 1

Yay it’s finally Fashion Week! Just a quick recap for y’all not familiar with the fashion world, every spring and fall, Mercedes-Benz puts on fashion week showing the fall and spring collections (fall shown in spring and vice versa), respectively.

Here’s a quick schedule of the shows via Mashable NYFW guide

For the next 168 hours, we will see what notable and sometimes new designers have come up with for the fall 2012 season.

So far, Nicholas K has shown a whole lot of black, navy and grey. Fringe is a trend for fall.

BCBGMAXAZRIA was super cute and colorful. Their collection was full of multi-colored dresses. The main colors were a pop of cherry, navy and camel. There was a lot of fur, always good. And the shoes were burgundy and black leather strap stilettos. The collection of dresses were stripped and color-blocked and semi-sheer.

Richard Chai was very into dark grey and stripes this season. Also an interesting floral pattern, showing that yes, florals can be worn in the fall, just do it over grey. Also loving the magenta hues.

Well that’s the end of Day 1 of NYFW.

Nicholas K- fringes, grey and navy. Slightly wearable, more runway.

BCBG- totally ready-to-wear. Gorgeous color.

Richard Chai- pretty colors, great patterns.
