Saturday had a plethora of sports wear, pretty dresses, shiny fabrics and great patterns. The Saturday lineup was Lacoste, Jill Stuart, Herve Léger by Max Azria, Tibi and one of my favorites Monique Lhuillier.
First of all the Lacoste show was a sporty winter wonderland. There were closed in panels on both sides of the runway with snow falling in them. Lacoste is of course après-ski which meant ski caps, color-blocked shifts and tops thrown under sleek windbreakers and capes.
Jill Stuart: gorgeous prints, really well made pants, mixing printed tops with full skirts and great trench coats were shown to fun rock music. Of course her shoes were awesome: thigh high patent leather boots, ankle strap stilettos and great booties. Her girls had fur neck liners as well- so chic. Stuart also showed how to wear long sleeved tops under printed dresses, super practical for winter.
Herve Léger by Max Azria: Gorgeously intricate dresses walked down the runway, along with pleated skirts and black leather cut out dresses. Obviously body con dresses were a must as were knee-high strappy leather stiletto boots. Sleek low ponies and clean faces were complemented by thin envelope clutches and metal box clutches.
Tibi: The show was set with menswear inspired pieces and western movie sounding movie played as the models walked. The designer focused on black, grey, white and green checks as well as a black and white window pane pattern. The tops this season seem to be a peplum with a pointed color. Turtlenecks are also a staple, good for chilly temps. The music switched to a chic parisian sounding jazz and then smoothly transitioned into a funky jazz.
Monique Luhillier: The show started off with girls walking in red and black lace dresses and skirts with rock music playing. It then continued with great office wear with solid color leather dresses and silk tops. The belts were thick and accented the clothing magnificently. Luhillier’s girls were all well-heeled with double ankle strap stilettos and classic pumps. Their hair was wavy only half way down and sleek straight up top. Luhillier has a taste of scarlet fever along with great printed black evening gowns and hints of grey. Luhillier showed her signature girly side with beautiful sequins that sparkled on the runway. Fishtail is a big dress trend, something to look for. Lhuillier ended with an amazing red feather ball gown with a semi sheer lace halter top.
