Tracy Reese, Custo Barcelona and DVF showed at NYFW on Sunday. It was a mix of cool prints and great dresses.
Tracy Reese: Super cool printed art work photo background. The models wore big sunglasses and were dressed in black and white prints with hints of red and yellow. Also multi-colored shoes and patterned dresses with sheen skirts and dresses were shown. Toggle coats with fur were outerwear as were sleek metallic trench coats. To get creative Reese threw in tribal prints and cross-body messenger bags. The designer even showed off a colorful side with deep greens, purples, blues and oranges. Reese showed how to mix colors and wear cloche style hats.
Custo Barcelona: Totally rock n’ roll complete with pattern matching (think sequins with multi-colored tweed and a whole lot of fringe). Exquisite animal prints and leather were shown. Boots with fringe on them were matched with elbow length gloves and sparkling and patterned fur coats. The models walked in front of a backdrop that had pieces of colored tile hanging down. The models (both male and female) looked wilderness chic with kind of a tribal rock band feel.
Diane Von Furstenburg: The show started with calm music, chic wrap designs and lady like dresses. It then transformed to romantic draping, leather burgundy, pink shifts(all shades) and great printed dresses and jumpsuits with beautiful evening bags. The DVF girls wore low chignons. Colors from magenta to navy to yellow to red were mixed fabulously. Sequins and sheer fabrics with velvet were accentuated with bold belts. A shiny sequin evening gown (halter, backless, slit) was the final look in her once again perfectly executed looks.
