Ah, insomnia: something college kids understand all too well. And yes, I’m writing this at 12 a.m because I can’t sleep.
When we were growing up (or at least in my house), my parents tucked me in, read me a story or gave me a book and a glass of warm milk or water. Well now that I’m an adult my parents obviously don’t tuck me in, I always have a book and a cup of water by my bed.
However sometimes these things don’t work. So here’s a quick do and don’t list to curing insomnia.
Don’t: drink coffee after 5 p.m. It will keep you up.
Do: listen to relaxing music, not Lady GaGa, her bad romance will not calm your brain down.
Don’t: take a nap in the middle of the day, it will throw off your sleep pattern.
Do: put your phone down. The light from your phone will keep you up and you won’t be able to fall asleep.
Ok, well I’m finally falling asleep, so I hope all you insomniacs do the same.
